Shoutmiles is a family voice-trivia game operated by Chip Off the Ol' Blockchain LLC. This policy explains how player profiles, spoken answers, and personalized host greetings use information.
The app saves player profiles, optional ages, and scores on your device. It does not upload the whole profile. It does send the player name for personalized host audio, as explained below. Deleting a profile removes its local profile and scores, but does not delete previously generated host audio from our server or a provider's records.
When the host says a player's name, the app sends that name to our server. The server returns a saved clip if one exists. To create a missing clip, our text-to-speech integration sends greeting text containing the name to ElevenLabs. This is text for the host to speak, not a recording of the player's voice.
Our server stores generated MP3 clips in a reusable name-audio library. The current implementation has no automatic expiry for these clips. We do not link them to a Shoutmiles account or use them to target advertising. ElevenLabs may retain the submitted text and generated audio under the applicable service agreement and data settings; we do not promise zero retention. You can use a non-identifying player label rather than a real name. Turning off voice answers does not stop the separate personalized host-audio requests.
Shoutmiles supports family play, including children. The data practices described here also apply when a child plays. The optional age setting adjusts question difficulty; it does not by itself prevent personalized name requests or guarantee that speech recognition stays on the device. Parents and guardians should supervise profile creation and microphone use. Contact us with privacy questions or a request to remove a child's information.
Voice answers are off by default. If you enable them and grant microphone permission, the app uses the device's speech-recognition service to recognize answers. Depending on the device, selected provider, and available language support, that service may send audio to a remote provider such as Google, Samsung, or Apple. The app does not require on-device-only recognition.
Shoutmiles does not save microphone recordings or send them to ElevenLabs. It receives recognized answer text for gameplay. The speech-recognition provider's own terms, settings, and retention practices govern any processing by that provider. You can turn voice answers off in the app or revoke microphone permission in your device settings and use the non-voice answer controls.
The app downloads trivia questions and host clips from our server. Network requests expose technical connection information, such as an IP address, to the hosting infrastructure. Personalized audio requests also contain the player name as described above. We do not use these requests to build advertising profiles.
If you choose a share-score or share-win button, the app gives your device's sharing tools a result message that may include player names. You choose the destination and whether to send it.
To request removal of a generated name clip or ask about provider-held information, email support@shoutmiles.com. Tell us which player label and host clip the request concerns; do not send a child's full name, birth date, or other unnecessary details. We will review the request and coordinate with the relevant provider where needed. Local profile deletion does not automatically make this request.
